Administration Department
The Administration Department is the nucleus of the shíshálh Nation to ensure daily operations are carried out in an efficient and timely manner. The staffing of the Department consists of 4.5 staff members:
Band Manager
Council Executive Secretary
Administrative Assistant
Part time Membership Clerk
Main Receptionist of the SIB
The Administration Department is responsible for receiving and forwarding information via the Band Newsletter, phone calls from band members and/or public. Storage of records are kept both electronically and manually. Staff responds to general enquiries that are placed on Council and draft letters for their agenda's for review and decisions. Meetings minutes are at all meetings of the Band related to the Government functions.
Staff assist in connecting all appropriate parties for meetings for Chief and Council or the Administrator. All information is provided to Chief and Council prior to meetings and ensure that if any policies are available that they're provided. In addition, we ensure distribution of minutes to all Department Heads where required and ensure directive is given to ensure follow-up.
The Administration Department is responsible to ensure that all the assets including buildings and capital are insured to protect the interests of the Band community, of which are all considered shareholders of the Band.
