shishalh Nation Lands Department

The shíshálh Nation Lands Department is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:30pm in the House of Hewhiwus Complex located at 5555 Sunshine Coast Highway. The Department is staffed by Department Head Lucy Joe who is available to assist with all matters pretaining to lease inquiries, permits, foreshore agreements,legal surveys etc.

The Lands Department is responsible for:

Development of Lease Agreements, Residential, Commercial and Industrial Park Agreements
Process of Permits, Foreshore Agreements, and Right of Away
Process of lease assignments, mortgages, modification agreements and all legal documents pertaining to the lease.
Review and respond to all lease enquires and make recommendation to Chief and Council
Ensure that contractual terms are being followed.

Provide rental/lease reviews on residential and commercial lots.
Allocation of SIB lots.
All administrative duties pertaining to the Lands departments such as maintaining filing system, letters, legal documents and referrals to Chief and Council etc.
Work with SIB Departments, Government organizations, Realtors, Lawyers, Notaries, Appraisal Companies and Surveyor.
